Winn Parish Library

Per capita, the Winn Parish Library is among the most often utilized public libraries in the nation. In 2002, there were  27,060 library visits.  
Library contents include:

  • Special Collections: Genealogy area–newspapers on microfilm; census records on microfilm; new microfilm reader/printer; local family history books; computer dedicated to genealogy patrons.
  • Large-print books for readers with visual problems
  • Books on tape; video collection of classic movies, children’s  tapes, westerns, World War II, travel, and instructional tapes
  • Reading/discussion programs for adults held each spring
  • Summer reading programs for children; professional performers entertain each week during summer months
  • Total collection (books and magazines) 98,254
  • 14 computer workstations for public access
