Winn Parish Library
Per capita, the Winn Parish Library is among
the most often utilized public libraries in the nation.
In 2002, there were 27,060 library visits.
Library contents include:
- Special Collections: Genealogy area–newspapers
on microfilm; census records on microfilm; new microfilm
reader/printer; local family history books; computer dedicated
to genealogy patrons.
- Large-print books for readers with visual problems
- Books on tape; video collection of classic movies,
children’s tapes, westerns, World War II,
travel, and instructional tapes
- Reading/discussion programs for adults held each spring
- Summer reading programs for children; professional
performers entertain each week during summer months
- Total collection (books and magazines) 98,254
- 14 computer workstations for public access
