which includes Winn Parish Medical Center, an accredited
hospital with satellite physical therapy and wellness
centers.
Winn Parish Medical Center is licensed for 60 beds and
includes a critical care unit, a Med/Surg unit, a Kidney
Dialysis unit, a new 24-hour
Emergency Department (opened in Summer of '02), a Rehabilitation
Specialty Clinic, and a Radiology unit. The Specialty
Clinic even
provides
an athletic trainer who attends sporting events in Winn
Parish.
Winn Parish Medical Center proudly offers Air-Med service
and it's heliport serves as a regional base for four
parishes.

Winn Parish Medical Center is equipped and staffed to
assist in emergency situations. Our hospital provides
the community with 24-hour physician coverage and an on-call
specialist. Referral and transfer arrangements are made
through our network to Rapides Regional Medical Center
in Alexandria for those services not provided at Winn
Parish Medical Center.
General Surgery
Our surgery department includes two surgical
suites, a post anesthesia care unit, and special procedures
room,
as well
as separate suites for endoscopy and urology. In addition
to general surgery cases, the surgery department does
laparoscopic procedures, as well as a wide variety of
outpatient surgeries
and diagnostic procedures. On average, our hospital
performs 1,500 surgical procedures annually.
Outpatient Services
Winn Parish Medical Center offers a
wide variety of outpatient services including Laboratory,
Radiology, Cardiac Rehab,
Physical Therapy, Outpatient Surgery, Dietary Counseling,
and most recently Echocardiography and Stress Echo Testing.
The Stress Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art technology
allowing physicians to link directly to the Rapides
Regional Medical Centers Heart Center for consults by
cardiologists.
